Legal and Medical Advocacy
Advocates assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault with the criminal justice and civil legal system for protection, work on behalf of the victim with other agencies, and access community services or funds. LACASA's legal advocates are not attorneys and do not practice law; they provide information about legal rights, accompany victims to court and assist in filing personal protection orders. |
24-hour On Call Response Team
Advocates offer immediate support to victims of sexual violence at the police station or hospital--24 hours a day. Victims are offered information, referrals and support. |
Counseling
Free and confidential professional counseling helps victims to identify and express their feelings, learn more about the healing process and create safety plans. |
