About Us

It is the philosophy of LACASA that domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse are not private problems, but those that must be recognized and responded to by the entire community. LACASA works closely with local schools, service organizations, businesses, human service agencies, and the criminal justice system to enhance public awareness and increase efforts to end the violence.

Who are LACASA staff?
LACASA is staffed by full and part-time professionals. The agency's personnel are master-level clinicians with the knowledge and understanding needed to help victims of domestic and sexual violence and their families. Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault are also part of LACASA's counseling team.

How is LACASA Funded?
LACASA services are supported through federal, state, local, and foundation grants, direct contributions, fees and fundraising. LACASA is also a member agency of the Livingston County United Way.
Services are free for victims, their families, and friends. Services for batterers have an assigned fee scale, but no one is ever turned away due to ability to pay.

How Can I Help LACASA?
Volunteers are also a very vital component in LACASA's work. They assist in everything from yard work and bulk mailing to crisis line counseling and fundraising events.
Monetary contributions enable LACASA to continue the important services provided for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. In-kind donations are also welcome and necessary to enable our agencies to assist families in a variety of ways. Donations are tax deductible and qualify for the homeless tax credit.
