Presentations:
Presentations for youth on sexual harassment, sexual assault and teen dating violence are provided to schools, civic groups and religious organizations. Students learn the facts about violence, as well as related safety techniques, and how to find help if they need it. Presentations can run from one to five sessions, and may be specialized to meet your individual needs. |
Support Groups:
Educational groups are held at local middle schools and high schools during school hours in a supportive environment to teach prevention of sexual and domestic violence. The topics covered within 10 meetings include: communication, boundaries, sexual harassment, sexual assault and dating violence. Co-facilitated by LACASA's Prevention Educator and a school counselor, the program is well liked by the participating teens and has proved effective in changing their attitudes and common misbeliefs. |
Juvenile Justice Program:
"Protecting Ourselves" is a workshop for teens who are involved in the court system. The one hour workshop, co-sponsored by the Livingston County Juvenile Court and LACASA, provides general information regarding sexual assault and dating violence, related safety techniques and referrals to additional community recourses. The workshop meets on the second Wednesday of every month. If you are working with at-risk teens, call the Prevention Educator to make a referral.
